Israel’s security cabinet is meeting on an agreement to end the war in Lebanon and is expected to agree on the decision to end the war.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is chairing a series of meetings today with security and coalition government leaders.

State media quoted a diplomatic official as saying that a ceasefire with Lebanon is fragile but in Israel’s interest.

The deputy speaker of the Lebanese parliament, Elias Bou Saab, told Reuters news agency that there is no serious obstacle to the agreement if Netanyahu does not change.

The proposed points include the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon and the withdrawal of Hezbollah fighters and their weapons south of the Litani River, which is 30 kilometers from the border between Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah fighters are being replaced by the Lebanese army.

The United States is chairing a committee of five countries monitoring the cease-fire, and they are issuing a letter that gives Israel the right to attack Lebanon if Hezbollah breaks the cease-fire.
