The Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) condemned Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s recent remarks to Parliament, saying they threaten the peace deal between the two sides.
In a statement, the TPLF accused Abiy of undermining the Pretoria Agreement and warned that any renewed conflict would be more devastating than previous wars. The group called his comments a provocation.
The war, which began on November 20, 2022, over a dispute surrounding the Ethiopian elections, has killed an estimated 300,000 to 600,000 people and displaced many others.
