Baghdad – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, held an official meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, H.E. Thabit Muhammad Al-Abbasi, following his arrival at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Baghdad.
The meeting, attended by senior Iraqi military officials, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in areas such as security, defence, military training, and the exchange of expertise between the two nations’ armed forces.
Minister Fiqi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and official invitation extended by the Iraqi Minister, emphasizing Somalia’s commitment to building a long-lasting partnership rooted in brotherhood and strategic collaboration.
The meeting is part of Somalia’s broader efforts to enhance international cooperation in security and strengthen the country’s military capabilities.
