The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has ordered the National Army Command to respond quickly to the activities of the AS group in many parts of the Middle Shabelle region.
The president ordered the Somali military to stop the intimidation of the AS in the Middle Shabelle region for 72 hours, meeting with the leaders of the clans.
Also President Hassan Sheikh asked the clans to mobilize the local forces and defend their land from AS and support the country’s armed forces, who were given an order to end the Al-Shabab invasion of the Middle Shabelle.
The Commander of the Force, who is in the Middle Shabelle, and President Hassan Sheikh who is in Mogadishu, have held special meetings with military officers, politicians, local army leaders and traditional elders of the clans living in Hir Shabelle. Some of these meetings were held over the phone.
A decision has been taken to reorganize the war, the national and local forces are cooperating and are carrying out a heavy attack against Al-Shabaab, who in the past hours and days have started an unprecedented chaos in the Middle Shabelle region.
The leader of Al-Shabaab, Abu Ubaydah, who spoke a few days ago, made a speech in which he declared that the war has broken them and they are on the verge of destruction, as he attributed the problem to be the invasion of all sides by the Somali government.
Also a heavy bombardment took place yesterday in Biyadade and Ceelbaraf, and their vehicles were burnt, killing many militants. In the coming hours and days, it is planned to carry out attacks to end Al-Shabaab in HirShabeelle.
