Mogadishu, May 6, 2025 – The President of Galmudug State, Ahmed Abdi Kariye (Qoorqoor), held a meeting today in Mogadishu with the leader of the SSC-Khaatumo administration, Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye).
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two administrations, promoting national unity, and enhancing collaboration on security and development in their respective regions.
They also discussed ways to establish political understanding and coordination between SSC-Khaatumo and other federal member states, in light of Somalia’s broader reconciliation efforts.
This meeting comes at a time when SSC-Khaatumo is seeking formal engagement with both federal and regional institutions to ensure proper political representation and support.
Both leaders agreed on the importance of maintaining national cohesion and upholding the Somali constitution.
