Mandera – The Governor of Mandera County, Mr. Mohamed Adan Khalif, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and relatives of those who lost their loved ones in last night’s armed attack in the Murutho area, located within Banisa Sub-County.
The county’s top official described the incident as deeply unfortunate, expressing his sorrow and strong condemnation of the violent act that targeted innocent civilians.
“This is a tragic incident that undermines our collective efforts toward peace and security,” the governor stated, adding that he plans to visit Murutho tomorrow to engage directly with the community and support efforts to find a lasting solution to the recurring insecurity in the region.
He also urged the public to remain calm and maintain peace and unity, emphasizing the need to de-escalate tensions and work together toward long-term stability.
