Tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated in the past 12 hours, with both sides launching a series of drone attacks, missile strikes, and cross-border artillery shelling, resulting in significant civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.

Drone Attacks on Both Sides

India has accused Pakistan of launching coordinated drone strikes on major cities and military bases in northern India, particularly in Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Gujarat. These attacks resulted in civilian injuries and the destruction of religious sites, including Sikh temples and Christian churches. In retaliation, India launched at least four drone strikes targeting military installations inside Pakistan.

Aerial Clashes

Fierce air skirmishes were reported near the Line of Control (LoC), with Indian fighter jets conducting airstrikes deep inside Pakistani territory. Pakistan claims to have shot down several Indian aircraft, while India states it successfully destroyed several Pakistani air defense systems.

Casualties and Damage

At least 15 people have been confirmed dead and over 50 injured in clashes across Kashmir. Pakistani authorities report 26 fatalities, including women and children, and more than 46 injuries due to Indian airstrikes.

Civilian Impact and Global Concern

The conflict has forced mass displacement, grounded more than 200 flights, and closed 25 airports. In response to the growing threat, India has begun civilian defense drills across several northern states.

The international community has expressed serious concern over the escalating violence, urging both nuclear-armed nations to de-escalate and seek a diplomatic resolution. This is one of the most dangerous flare-ups between India and Pakistan in recent years.
