Mount Arafat — Amid soaring temperatures and as millions of pilgrims gathered at the sacred site of Mount Arafat — one of the most revered days in Islam — a remarkable event was recorded: the birth of the first baby officially registered on the mountain this Hajj season.

The newborn was delivered by a Muslim mother from the West African nation of Togo. Medical staff at the healthcare center on Mount Arafat confirmed the birth, noting that both the mother and baby are in good health.

The delivery has been widely seen as a moment of joy and blessing, especially during such a spiritually significant time. Many pilgrims and healthcare workers present celebrated the birth as a symbol of hope and divine mercy.

Saudi authorities had previously announced that they had set up advanced medical facilities to care for pilgrims, including emergency services for cases such as childbirth, illness, and heat-related conditions that are common during the intense days of Hajj.
