The National Consultative Council issued a statement last night from their meeting in Mogadishu, reaching a political understanding and cooperation on security issues and the country’s electoral process.
Also National Consultative Council’s statement released last night officially recognized SSC-Khaatumo as a member of the Regional States of the Federal Government of Somalia, directing the Ministry of Interior to complete the process of establishing the SSC-Khaatumo administration.
On the other side , the Ministry of Interior was asked to prepare legal advice on how best to handle the situation in Jubbaland. The Consultative Council said that there is a need to find a legal mechanism that will resolve the Jubbaland conflict.
These two issues are the newest, as the rest of the press release is an item that has been discussed in previous NCC meetings.
