The Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and the Identification and Registration Agency (NIRA) have signed a cooperation agreement on linking the modern National Identification System with the disaster management and humanitarian aid system.
The general purpose of the agreement is for the two organizations to cooperate in the dissemination of public registration in the modern national identification system and for everyone who is receiving humanitarian aid to receive a secure and reliable identity.
The agreement allows the disadvantaged Somali people served by SODMA to receive free registration and recognition from NIRA.
