American B-52 bombers arrived in the Middle East on Saturday, a day after Washington announced that it was sending the military equipment, as a warning to Iran.

A statement issued by the central command of the military in the Middle East and its surroundings said that the bombers have reached their destination.

The United States announced on Friday evening that it is sending bombers, fighter jets, tankers and anti-missile weapons to the Middle East, which took off from the US Air Force base in Minot, North Dakota.

A spokesman for the Pentagon, Major General Pat Ryder, said that Washington will take all necessary measures to defend its people, if Iran and the groups it supports try to target individuals or US interests in the region.
