The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the protection of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, has urged activists fighting to break the Israeli blockade on Gaza to continue their efforts.
“While demanding the immediate release of the Madeleine, it is necessary to continue the rescue efforts aimed at the people in need. Every port in the Mediterranean should send boats to Gaza, if they sail together they cannot be stopped,” Albanese said in a brief statement posted on X.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry, based in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, called for the protection of human rights activists aboard the Madeleine.
