The US Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced that it had carried out two airstrikes targeting the ISIS-Somalia terrorist group, with the coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia.
The strikes took place on May 3 and 4, 2025, in areas of northeastern Somalia.
“These two strikes are part of a joint effort between AFRICOM and the Federal Government of Somalia to disrupt ISIS-Somalia’s ability to plan and execute attacks against U.S. forces, the Somali people, and international interests,” the statement said.
