The United Nations Security Council on Monday renewed the sanctions it had previously imposed on the terrorist group Al Shabab.

All members of the Security Council unanimously approved resolution 2776, which extended the duration of various sanctions on Al Shabab.

The committee of experts assisting the Security Council in the implementation of sanctions on Al-Shabaab submitted the latest report, and pointed out that Al-Shabaab remains the biggest threat to peace and security in Somalia, and is capable of carrying out serious attacks against the government of Somalia, the African Union and international forces.
