The situation this morning in Baled Hawa is calm , following several days of fierce fighting there between the forces of the Federal Government of Somalia government forces and those of Jubbaland.
The Federal Government soldiers have completely taken over the district headquarters, the military base, and the Immigration Authority headquarters, which were previously held by Jubbaland.
Abdirashid Janan, the head of NISA in Gedo region, said From now on, they will work together to ensure peace and stability in the Gedo region, while the community will decide its own destiny.
Communications in the city have been restored, and business and normal life are slowly returning, as the people of Baled Hawa appear to be easing the tension of the recent days of conflict.
