The Sudanese Security and Defense Council has issued a firm and historic statement in response to what it describes as a sustained campaign of aggression against Sudan by the United Arab Emirates.

The statement accuses the UAE of violating Sudan’s sovereignty and supporting the rebel Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed) with strategic weapons, endangering millions of civilians and threatening regional stability.

As a result, the Council has declared the UAE an aggressor state and announced the severance of diplomatic ties.

Statement from the Security and Defense Council The entire world has been following, for more than two years, the crime of aggression against the sovereignty of Sudan, the unity of its territory, and the safety of its citizens—committed by the United Arab Emirates through its local agent, the terrorist and rebellious Rapid Support Militia, and its political backers.

When the United Arab Emirates became certain of the defeat of its local agent—defeated by our Armed Forces, the legitimate institution entrusted with defending the homeland and preserving its resources—it escalated its support and devoted more of its capabilities to supplying the rebellion with advanced strategic weapons.

These weapons have been used to continuously target vital and service-related facilities in the country.

Most recently, they were used to strike oil and gas depots, the port and airport of Port Sudan, power stations, and hotels—placing the lives and property of millions of civilians at risk.

These acts constitute a threat to regional and international security, particularly the security of the Red Sea.

In response to this continued aggression, the Security and Defense Council has decided the followino declare the United Arab Emirates a state of aggression. ver diplomatic relations with the UAE.

To withdraw the Sudanese embassy and the general consulate. In accordance with the letter and spirit of Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which grants states the right to defend themselves, Sudan reserves the right to respond to this aggression by all necessary means to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity, protect civilians, and ensure the continued delivery of humanitarian assistance.

The Council values the efforts and sacrifices of the Sudanese people, the Armed Forces, the Police, the Security Services, the Joint Forces, and the Popular Resistance, and reassures the Sudanese nation that the state is capable of deterring this aggression and maintaining the country’s security.
