Somalia State Minister for Foreign Affairs Receives Sudanese Ambassador

Mogadishu, November 2, 2025 — The Somali State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Ali Mohamed Omar, received today (Sunday) in his office at the Ministry in the capital, Mogadishu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Abdelrahman Khalil Ahmed Abkar Effendi.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance frameworks of cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting addressed key issues affecting Sudan, including the ongoing conflict and violence in the city of El Fasher, where humanitarian aid has been severely restricted, as well as broader issues related to human rights.

Both sides reviewed the latest developments in the humanitarian, security, and political situations in Sudan, emphasizing the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring the delivery of aid to those in need.

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reaffirmed Somalia’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and stability, stressing that a peaceful and political solution is vital to ensure lasting security and stability in the country.
