Somalia Minister of Finance Bihi Iman Cige held an important and fruitful meeting at the Ministry of Finance with the General Manager of the Saudi Arabian Economic Development Fund, Sultan Abdulrahman Al-Marshad and officials from the Government of Saudi Arabia who arrived in Mogadishu yesterday.
The meeting focused on the process of reforming Somalia’s finances, which is currently in good progress, and how to finance important projects that the Somali government is giving special priority to.
Minister Bihi confirmed the Somali Government’s commitment to creating economic opportunities to invest in the Somali community, in order to increase the country’s economy and production.
Also the meeting was attended by the Minister of Energy and Water, the heads of the Somali Development and Reconstruction Bank, the ambassadors of two countries, Somalia and Saudi Arabia, an agreement was signed for the Saudi government to finance the drilling and development of water well and development of rural areas .
The development measures to invest in financial resources are a result of the debt relief process that the Somali Government has managed in the right way.
