The Prime Minister of Somalia Hamze Abdi Barre has appointed Abdisalan Abdi Ali who was the Minister of General Affairs as the second Deputy Prime Minister of the government of Somalia.
The government of Prime Minister Hamse became the first government to have a second deputy prime minister, after the interim government.
During the previous tenure of President Hassan Sheikh, his government appointed one deputy prime minister, which removed the three deputy prime ministers of the interim government.
It is also expected that there will be a reshuffle of ministers that will affect two ministries, where several Deputy Ministers and Ministers of State will be replaced.
President Hassan Sheikh earlier made a promise to appoint this seat, which was requested by the politicians and parliamentarians representing the South West.
