The Somali Consultative Council meeting, which was supposed to officially open in Mogadishu today, has been delayed, having been scheduled for Monday.
“It was reported that the National Consultative Council (NCC) meeting was to officially open in Mogadishu tomorrow. After consultations, the National Leaders decided to hold the meeting on Monday, May 5, 2025,” the government statement said.
Although there have been no official statement from Somali leaders about the delay.
It is known that the leaders of Puntland and Jubbaland, who are in conflict with the Federal Government of Somalia, will not attend the National Consultative Council meeting, and for the first time the SSC Khatumo leadership was invited .
