The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held fruitful meetings with the Leader of the Supreme Council of Libya, Mr. Mohamed Al-Manfi and the Prime Minister of this country, Mr. Abdihamid Dubayba, in which they discussed the strengthening of relations between the two countries and cooperation in the fields of migration, economy, energy and diplomacy.
The president focused on the situation of Somali migrants in Libya, thanking the Libyan government for its cooperation in repatriating Somali citizens who are migrants, who are in difficult circumstances in this country, and noted that the Somali government is committed to finding a lasting solution to the problems of migration and the welfare of citizens.
The meeting also analyzed the common interests of the two countries and how to strengthen the economic and political cooperation between the two brotherly states.
The President and the Leader of Libya agreed to accelerate cooperation in the field of energy, stressing the importance of the exchange of experience and modern technologies on renewable energy and oil exploration.
Also, President Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Abdihmid Dabaybah were present at the signing of several agreements to strengthen cooperation between the two countries, which were signed by the Ministers and Heads of Governments concerned, in order to promote cooperation in the development of investment, economic integration and social services.
