The Somali government has ordered Col. Ali Mohamed Adan to leave the country within 72 hours who was the Second Deputy Consul of the Ethiopian Embassy in Somalia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia issued a statement ordering that Col. Ali Mohamed to left the country within 72 hours, and was accused of committing acts inconsistent with his diplomatic duties.
“The Ministry announces that Mr. Ali Mohamed Adan, who is now Counselor II at the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Somalia, has committed acts that are inconsistent with his diplomatic duties,” the ministry said in a statement.
“His actions violate the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961), specifically Articles 41 and 42, which instruct diplomats to respect the laws of the host country and not to interfere in its internal affairs.”
Therefore, Mr. Ali Mohamed Adan has been declared an “undesirable person” and he will be required to leave Somalia within 72 hours of receiving this notification,” continued the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia.
