The Ministry of Interior and Reconciliation of the Somali government has described the move taken by the President of Puntland to establish a separate identity for his administration as illegal and a breach of responsibility.
A press release from the Ministry included: “The step taken by the President of Puntland to create another identity that undermines the National Identity (No. 04, 09/04/2025), is a responsible and legal mistake, and it is a direct violation of the country’s governance system. It is a confusion and a state of disorganization.
”This type of action has no basis or basis in the concepts of governance and national responsibility. It does not reflect nationalism and compassion,” the statement said.
