Somalia government brought back to the country about 147 youth who were rescued from prisons where they had been for a long time.

The government of Somalia, with the help of the European Union and IOM, today brought back to the country 147 citizens who went to Libya as migrants, and were rescued from prisons where they had been held for a long time by ransom groups.

The Somali government has dispersed these young people from the cities of Mogadishu and Hargeisa, government officials welcomed them to the Aden Adde airport in Mogadishu.

Maryan Yasin Haji, the Special Envoy of the Somalia government President’s Office in charge of Migrants and Children’s Rights spoke about the emergency return of migrant youths and called on them to contact the Somali Embassy in Libya.

The Federal Government of Somalia is focusing on repatriating young Somalis who are suffering in countries around the world, especially in Libya and Sudan, and to save them from the problems they face in migration , also it has recently brought back to the country about 100 young Somalis who were rescued from the shores of the island of Madagascar.
