Militants belonging to the Al-Shabaab group last night attacked a control of the security forces on the outskirts of Kaxda district in Banadir region.
The operation took place between the cemetery of Kaxda and the Maracade area which is located in the southern part of the district according to the news from the Special Police of Haramacade.
The reports that are say that there was a confrontation between the Special Police Forces of Haramad and members of Al Shabab who were carrying out the attack.
The officers who led the operation said that the forces successfully prevented the attack that the militias intended, and foiled a plan by Al-Shabaab to attack Mogadishu with mortars.
Sources say that the damage caused by the conflict has not yet been officially confirmed.
The Officials of the Harammad forces indicated that operations against Al-Shabaab will continue, stressing that the security forces are committed to prevent any attempt to disrupt the security of the capital Mogadishu.
