The Federal Republic of Somalia has extended its heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the State of Qatar following a tragic traffic accident that claimed the lives of three Qatari diplomatic and injured two others in Egypt.
According to a statement issued by Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Sunday, the accident occurred in the early hours of the day near the city of Sharqiyah in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The victims were reported to be members of the Qatari Emiri Diwan.
Somalia expressed deep sorrow over the incident and emphasized its full solidarity with Qatar during this time of grief. “The Federal Republic of Somalia affirms its full support for the leadership, government, and people of the brotherly State of Qatar,” the statement read.
The Somali government also offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah Almighty to grant them His mercy and place them in the highest ranks of Paradise. It further wished a swift recovery for the injured and extended its sympathies to the families and loved ones affected by the tragedy.
