President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia and President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh of the Republic of Djibouti, our brotherly nation, today jointly attended the 25th Anniversary of the Somali Peace Conference held in Arta, which paved the way for the restoration of Somalia’s statehood.
The two Presidents jointly inaugurated the Somali Peace Monument, a modern museum built in the city of Arta, which preserves the history of Somali reconciliation conferences.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from both governments, former Somali leaders, politicians, traditional elders, and members of Somali society.
