Mogadishu – Today, on the occasion of Arafat Day, one of the holiest days in Islam, Somali citizens in Mogadishu and various regions across the country came together to perform the Eid al-Adha (Carafo) prayers, marking the festive celebration with unity and devotion.

Thousands gathered in major prayer grounds, joined by senior government officials, members of parliament, regional leaders, military officers, and the general public.

The Eid prayers were conducted peacefully, reflecting a sense of national togetherness and spiritual connection. Sermons delivered after the prayers focused on themes of forgiveness, compassion, national reconciliation, and unity among Somalis. Religious leaders also emphasized the importance of working collectively towards peace and rebuilding the country.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who attended the prayers in Mogadishu, extended heartfelt Eid greetings to all Somalis, wishing them peace, prosperity, and good health. He urged citizens to remember and pray for their fellow Somalis affected by conflict or hardship and called for nationwide solidarity and support.

This sacred holiday also served as a reminder to care for orphans, the poor, and those in need — reflecting the true values behind Eid al-Adha, which include sacrifice, charity, and communal harmony.

Eid Mubarak – Wishing a Peaceful and Blessed Eid al-Adha to All Somalis!
