Ukraine and Russia have officially exchanged prisoners of war, with both sides repatriating more than 300 former prisoners.
Ukraine brought back 189 former prisoners, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while the Russian Ministry said that 150 Russian soldiers are returning to their country.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia said that the prisoners were released in Belarus, which is a close friend of Moscow since the 34-month war in Ukraine, and will be transferred to Russia.
Zelenskyy thanked the authorities of the United Arab Emirates and other partners for facilitating the exchange of prisoners.
The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that it helped arrange the release of the prisoners.
