Today, Hirshabelle’s voter registration of one person vote has been officially opened in Jowhar city.
President Hirshabelle Mr Ali Guudlaawe Hussien , the authorities of that administration and hundreds of people are in line with the registration initiated by the Independent Electoral Commission.
The launch event was also attended by senior federal officials and Hirshabelle administration, the independent national electoral commission, security officials, civil society organizations and the local public who welcomed the beginning of the democratic process.
President Guudlaawe who spoke at the event said this registration is an important step towards free and fair elections based on the will of the public, calling on the Hirshabelle people to actively participate.
Supervisors and operators of the electoral commission were present at the registration sites.
