The Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, has officially laid the foundation stone for the construction of a major road in Wadajir District, specifically in the Buulo-Xuubey neighborhood.
The new tarmac road, which will stretch nearly two kilometers, is expected to create new employment and business opportunities while contributing to the overall beautification and development of the capital.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Hamza highlighted the crucial role of infrastructure projects in improving security, facilitating transportation, and enhancing the delivery of essential public services in Mogadishu.
“The Buulo-Xuubey road, which has a long and significant history, is one of the most important routes in the capital. It is home to many key centers vital for transportation, commerce, and the movement of people,” the Prime Minister stated.
He also commended the Banadir Regional Administration for its ongoing efforts in expanding road networks and improving public services, urging the local authorities to accelerate initiatives aimed at enhancing the city’s cleanliness, sanitation, and overall urban development.
The construction of the Buulo-Xuubey road forms part of the government’s broader commitment to rebuilding infrastructure, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for residents in Mogadishu and beyond.
