Mogadishu, May 5, 2025 – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today chaired the opening session of the National Consultative Forum, held in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
This forum is part of the national dialogue initiative launched by the President, aimed at fostering inclusive political consultation. The meeting was attended by key national leaders including:
• Prime Minister H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre,
• First Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama,
• President of South West State H.E. Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed,
• President of Hirshabelle State H.E. Ali Abdullahi Hussein,
• President of Galmudug State H.E. Ahmed Abdi Kariye,
• Leader of SSC-Khaatumo Administration H.E. Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, and
• Governor of Banadir Region H.E. Mohamed Ahmed Amir.
This high-level national meeting focuses on key issues including the security situation in the country, ongoing military operations to liberate areas still under terrorist control, the completion of the provisional constitution, the democratic process, and rebuilding the national armed forces.
