The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, received the Secretary of the Embassy of Sudan in Somalia, Mr. Ammar Ahmed Babakir, who briefed him on the situation in the country, military operations and the impact on the relationship between the two countries.
Ambassador Babakir thanked the President for the way the government and the Somali people welcomed the Sudanese citizens who fled the wars in that country, pointing out that the Somalis, the people and the government welcomed their Sudanese brothers with brotherhood and joy who arrived in the country .
Also, the ambassador conveyed to President Hassan Sheikh a greeting and a message from the leader of the Supreme Council of Sudan Mr. Abdifatah Al-Burhan.
For his part, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud pointed out the importance of the historical relationship between the two peoples, saying that the Somali people owe a lot to their Sudanese counterparts, who have significantly contributed to supporting Somalia in difficult times, especially educational opportunities for Somali students and training of security agencies.
Finally, the President of the Federal Republic Mr. Hassan Sheikh said that Somalia is making efforts for the peace and stability of Sudan, as its stability is important for the entire region.
