The long-anticipated National Consultative Forum, recently announced by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, is scheduled to officially open tomorrow, Monday, June 16, 2025, in the capital, Mogadishu.
The forum will bring together a wide range of delegates from both within Somalia and the diaspora, representing various sectors of society. Final preparations for the event are currently being completed by a special organizing committee appointed by the federal government to ensure the successful execution of the forum.
The purpose of this forum is to facilitate inclusive national dialogue, where the country’s leadership will engage with Somali intellectuals and stakeholders. The discussions will focus on key national priorities, including:

• Security
• Finalization of the Constitution
• The electoral process
President Hassan Sheikh’s initiative aims to strengthen political consensus and reinforce cooperation between institutions and communities during a time of heightened political tension and uncertainty.
