The Somali National Army, in collaboration with courageous local fighters, has released images and footage of vehicles abandoned by the Al-Shabaab militants. The vehicles were deliberately concealed under tree branches in an attempt to hide them following a series of direct attacks and airstrikes that targeted Al-Shabaab leaders and fighters in recent days.
Fleeing militants left behind the vehicles and a large cache of weapons in the bushy border areas between Hiiraan and Middle Shabelle regions. The retreat reflects a growing sense of defeat and disarray within Al-Shabaab ranks, as they were unable to withstand the intensified military pressure.
According to military officials, the swift action of the joint forces led to the discovery and seizure of the abandoned vehicles and weapons, which Al-Shabaab had attempted to bury or hide in remote forested areas.
This latest success is further evidence of the ongoing collapse of Al-Shabaab’s operational capabilities. The seized equipment has been transferred to secure military facilities for further investigation and security assessment.
The Somali National Army and community-led defense forces continue to gain ground against Al-Shabaab. Authorities are encouraging citizens across the country to maintain their support for national forces to ensure the complete elimination of the terrorist group that has long destabilized the country.
