Lebanon’s Ministry of Health reported that at least 52 people were killed and 72 were injured after more than 10 missiles were fired by Israeli warplanes who has been carrying out heavy airstrikes on targets in the famous agricultural villages in the north-east of Lebanon.
On Friday Lebanon’s prime minister accused Israel of rejecting a ceasefire after the Israeli military bombed the southern city of Beirut for the first time this week.
The strikes against Lebanon came a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US officials, who discussed ending Israel’s war in Lebanon ahead of Tuesday’s US presidential election.
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the Israeli attacks and he accused Israel of not wanting a ceasefire.
