The African Union ATMIS mission last night issued a press release condemning the artillery attack on the Halane camp in Mogadishu early in the morning.
ATMIS, which did not disclose the number of casualties caused by the artillery attack, sent its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and relatives of those who died.
Al-Shabaab claimed that the artillery attack they carried out yesterday morning in Halane killed three white foreigners who are part of the UN staff, while 3 of the Ugandan army, which has not yet been confirmed.
The security agencies of the Federal Government have refrained from this attack which is repeated while the NISA yesterday spoke about an operation that killed 27 members of Al-Shabaab which took place in the Middle Shabelle region.
The Special Envoy of the Chairperson of the African Union, Mohamed El-Amine Souef, said in ATMIS’s statement that it is committed to fighting terrorism, and that these attacks will not stop the stabilization operations they are carrying out in Somalia
