Israel and Hamas have agreed to reach a cease-fire agreement and the release of hostages after a 15-month war, according to mediators from Qatar and the United States.
The agreement was reached after intense negotiations in Qatar.
If this agreement, which will last for 6 weeks, is successful, it will lead to real talks to end the war in Gaza.
Celebrations have already started all over Gaza City. People gathered in the streets cheering and waving the Palestinian flag while Israeli airstrikes were being reported elsewhere.
Qatar’s prime minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, said the deal would come into force on Sunday if Israel’s cabinet approves it.
