The Germany government on Monday expanded its border controls with all nine neighboring countries, hoping to control the flow of migrants, which has angered other EU member states.
The Federal Police are cheeking cars and buses crossing from other countries, asking the passengers to show their identity cards and also open the back of the vehicles.
Berlin announced the move last week after a series of extremist attacks raised public fears and boosted support for the far-right AfD party.
German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said the move was aimed at curbing illegal immigration and “stopping criminals and identifying and stopping Islamists early”.
The checkpoints stopped traffic . Some of the people are in support of this.
Controls are already in place at Germany’s borders with Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Switzerland. However, it has now been expanded to include France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.
