The leadership of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia has officially announced that the 6th parliamentary session will be formally closed tomorrow, June 22, 2025.
Following the closure, members of both the Lower House (House of the People) and the Upper House (Senate) will begin a recess period, with the 7th session scheduled to resume on August 22, 2025.
The 6th session is reported to have concluded in a stable manner, during which lawmakers deliberated on key national matters, including legislation related to security, the economy, constitutional reform, and the electoral process.
The parliamentary leadership encouraged members to use the recess period to remain engaged with their constituents and contribute to public awareness on peacebuilding, unity, and national development.
