This agreement, which was signed by Egypt’s Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamud Essmat, and Djibouti’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Yonis Ali Guled is being implemented and funded by the Egyptian government while the power center will be established in Djibouti.
It also reflects on how the two countries are focusing on finding a solution for renewable energy and benefiting from Egypt’s experience in the development of renewable energy.
Djibouti currently depends on Ethiopia for most of its electricity, which Djibout is willing to find a solution to come up with a way to get out of depending on another country.
