Mogadishu, May 10, 2025 – The Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Asad Diyaano, has been praised for his tireless efforts after spending the entire night assisting with rescue operations for civilians affected by heavy rains and flooding in Mogadishu.

According to reports from the city, General Diyaano did not rest during the night, instead working closely with his officers to oversee emergency responses. The Somali Police Force, under his direct command, played a key role in evacuating residents trapped in flooded homes and neighborhoods.

The rescue efforts were conducted in coordination with the Banadir Regional Administration, represented by Mohamed Yabooh, Head of Security and Politics for the region. Together, police units and local authorities launched joint operations to reach areas severely impacted by the rains.

Both the police and the regional administration have been widely praised by the public for their swift response and commitment to protecting civilians during this difficult time.
