Afgooye, May 10, 2025 – Reports from Afgooye town in Lower Shabelle region confirm that Mohamed Sharif Haajiow (Maahi), a former employee at Digfeer Hospital in Mogadishu, was shot and killed by suspected Al-Shabaab militants.
Eyewitnesses say the attack happened as Mohamed was leaving his home, riding a Feykon motorcycle, which he had recently been using for work.
The motive behind the killing remains unclear, and no group has officially claimed responsibility, although Al-Shabaab has a history of targeting government workers, healthcare professionals, and civilians.
Residents and relatives have expressed shock and grief over the incident and are calling for justice and improved security in the area.
