The Governor of Lower Shabelle, Mr. Ibrahim Aden Ali (Najah), has officially announced that Somali National Army (SNA) forces, with support from international partners, have successfully liberated the Sabiid & Caanole area from the terrorist group Al-Shabaab.
The operation, which took place earlier today, resulted in a full withdrawal of Al-Shabaab militants from the area without causing harm to the local civilian population.
Governor Najah stated that the liberation is part of the second phase of the offensive against Al-Shabaab in southern Somalia, and assured that the allied forces will continue efforts to free other remaining areas under militant control.
“Sabiid & Caanole is now free. The safety of the local population is a top priority, and resettlement and public service delivery will begin immediately,” said Governor Najah.
This successful operation marks a significant step in the ongoing campaign to restore stability and governance in Lower Shabelle, and the efforts of the national forces have been widely praised.
