Troops with four boats along with some of the Jubbaland army have joined the Federal Government of Somalia near Raskamboni in the Lower Juba region.
The army was welcomed there by the army officers and some who spoke to the media said that they are ready for the war against al-Shabaab in Lower Juba region.
“We know that we are working with the government forces and no one has paid us or called us to talk about this and now we have been forced to take this step because for more than 20 years that we have been working in security, we have not received any support from all sides. No matter who is on the sea side, Al-Shabaab is on the other side.” said one of the soldiers.
Earlier, around 100 soldiers from the Jubbaland army were recruited and brought to Mogadishu to be registered and given salaries and rewards promised by the federal government of Somalia.
