At the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, the debate of the candidates for the position of President of the African Union is underway. The candidates, whose list has already been announced, are competing for the top post of the organization.
The three candidates competing for this position are Mohamud Ali Yusuf from Djibouti, Raila Amolo Odinga representing Kenya, and Richard Randriamandrato from Madagascar. The first part of the debate of the candidates has been concluded, while waiting for the debate to be submitted to the second round.
The second round of the debate will focus on the candidates running for the post of Vice President of the African Union. The candidates for this position are Salah Francis and Selma Malika from Algeria, Amb. Mohamed Ahmed Fathi and Dr. Hanan Morsy from Egypt, Najat M. Elhajjaji from Libya, and Latifa Akharbach from Morocco.
It is expected that the discussions and competition will lead to an important decision that will affect the future leadership of the African Union
