Emergency teams in Spain said that on Sunday, they found 5 bodies floating on the shores of one of the Canary Islands in Spain. It is believed that the inflatable boat they were carrying sank.

A spokesman for the rescue workers told the Reuters news agency that they rescued about 97 people who were migrants who were traveling with two artificial boats that capsized.
The rescue teams said that this week alone they rescued 1,500 people from the coast of Spain. Most of these people migrate from the west coast of Africa through the waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

The migrants, mostly young people, are fleeing the instability in the Sahel region of West Africa and by boat to the Canary Islands belonging to Spain, where they cross over to the countries in the European Union.

Since this year according to the report of the Spanish government, about 32,878 migrants reached the Canary Islands by boat. This number is 39.7% more than last year.
