Police in Nairobi arrested a 22-year-old man late last night after he was found in possession of explosive-making materials, raising fears of a possible terror plot.

The arrest occurred at around 11:20 PM during a routine patrol. The suspect’s suspicious and evasive behavior caught the attention of officers from Kamukunji Police Station, who stopped him and searched the bag he was carrying.

Upon inspection, officers discovered 21 detonators, 21 packets of a white substance suspected to be ammonium nitrate, a five-meter electric wire, and other bomb-making components.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody and handed over to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) for further interrogation and investigation.

The National Police Service of Kenya emphasized their continued commitment to protecting the public and ensuring national security.
