The President of Jubaland, Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe), held a telephone discussion with representatives of the International Community in Somalia, focusing on the country’s current political crisis and the urgent need for an inclusive national dialogue.

During the call, both sides stressed the importance of immediately convening a comprehensive and inclusive forum to address the country’s most pressing issues — including the finalization of the Provisional Constitution, electoral frameworks, and the ongoing fight against terrorism.

President Ahmed Madobe expressed his gratitude to the International Community for their continued support to the Somali people and emphasized that one-sided conferences will not bring sustainable solutions. He called for sincere dialogue and collaboration between the Federal Government and Federal Member States to restore trust and unity.

The new proposal by Jubaland and its international partners appears to be a parallel effort to the dialogue initially proposed by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, which now seems to have stalled or failed to gain the full confidence of key stakeholders.
