The Somali Opposition Forum for National Salvation has strongly condemned the decision by the Federal Government of Somalia to call for the disbandment of the C6+ group — a coalition of international representatives supporting Somalia’s stabilization and development.

In an official press statement, the Forum described the move as “an attempt by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to escape the growing political isolation he is facing.”

They stated that this decision threatens to damage Somalia’s vital relationship with key international partners who have long played an essential role in providing political, economic, and security support to the country.

The statement reads:

“This step is irresponsible and reveals the political fear spreading within Villa Somalia. The government must stop attacking international partners who have stood by Somalia’s path to peace and development.”

The Opposition Forum further called on the international community not to sever engagement with Somalia altogether but to continue direct collaboration with institutions and civil society actors committed to safeguarding democracy and stability.

Somalia’s political climate has become increasingly tense in recent weeks, with escalating power struggles and opposition pressure deepening concerns both domestically and among foreign stakeholders.
